Decorah Park and Rec Kids Dog Training Program

We are happy to be working with the Decorah Park and Recreation Department in offering a kids dog training program during the summer. This is a 6 week class for kids between the ages of 8-14 that helps them train basic obedience skills and agility obstacle training. Our first program in 2008 was a huge success and we have been having a great time since! To sign your child up for these classes please contact the Decorah Park and Rec Dept.

Winneshiek County 4-H DOG PROGRAM

The Winneshiek County 4-H dog program was started 20 years ago by Beth Einck, "Good Dog" Center co-founder. Classes are divided according to experience and ability of handler and dog. The program offers both rally obedience and agility training and the exercises are based on AKC (American Kennel Club) competition exercises. The students are able to show off their hard work at the Winneshiek County Fair each July in Decorah, Iowa. The students may participate in rally obedience, agility or both at the fair. Each year when the student advances they must learn at least one new basic skill. 4-H is also learning about care and management of dogs and each dog is judged on grooming.

Contact Beth Einck at (563)382-3989 for more information, and come support the 4-H youth and their dogs at the Winneshiek County Fair held in July.
